I found one at the Mines Shopping Centre and was hooked on it. It just looked so slick and beautiful. I had to get it. So after a few weeks, I went to Low Yatt and bought the iPhone. The guy who sold me the phone warned me not to upgrade to the latest iPhone OS. He said if I did, the iPhone wouldn't be able to recognize our local sim card.
So, I was using the iPhone happily, downloading apps mainly from Cydia and Installer. Up to a point where the iPhone hanged. My friend mentioned that that might happened if I installed too many apps without downloading an app that actually manages the storage. So what happened was, I think, was that the apps were being installed in the main drive where the OS lives. So as it took space needed by the OS, it stopped working.
Panicking, I formatted the iPhone using iTunes, and that's when the trouble started. It took about half and hour to complete the formatting, and to upgrade the OS (which was a big mistake). After finally completing the formatting, my sim card wasn't recognized by the iPhone. I thought "oh crap". Luckily I had a backup phone with me at the time. So I have to use my backup phone while my iPhone became a paperweight.
So then, I did some research on the iPhone and the ways you can jailbreak the iPhone. I downloaded a few applications and tried it out, and finally managed to free my iPhone (meaning, I can actually open my iPhone). But, it still didn't recognize my sim card.
To be continued..... (maybe)
